My word for this past year was “embody” — the importance of maintaining a strong grounded sense of being in my human body as I connect with higher states of consciousness. As I dig deeper into this intention of embodiment, I realized that healing isn’t actually about “embodying your best self” — or at least, not all of the time.
Of course, euphoric peaks of self actualization are an integral part of the journey — that thrill of deep fulfillment and success keeps us going and growing. However, if you’re not integrating the spiritual alchemy you’re experiencing, you’re missing the point of the healing all together.
Healing isn’t just about living in the esoteric ethers or within “your best self” — clinging to plant medicine ceremonies, healing sessions, moon circles, and the world of woo to propel your consciousness. Yes, it's about transcending, taking a little coffee date with your highest self (and possibly with your spirit guides), but the key is coming back down to earth to synthesize it all.
