PRESSING PAUSE TO LEAD WITH HEART

Stepping Away from Substack (For Now), Standing Up for Integrity, and Embracing the Unknown

I recently spoke on a Conscious Leadership panel with Allbright at Soho House. We spoke on some soul-rich topics like the intersection of intuition and business, the rise of divine feminine energy in the workplace and, overall, what being a “conscious leader” looks like today—how to manage pressure, safeguard your energy and be vulnerable without being too vulnerable. 

While speaking to others, I felt like I was speaking to myself—reminding myself to lead with heart, stay connected to my core values and be transparent with all of you. So, here we go…

If you haven’t already heard, substack has a Nazi problem. They have condoned antisemitic newsletters to run freely on their platform.

Although this newsletter and connecting with all of you fills every cell in my body with electric joy, it feels downright wrong to support Substack right now—while also giving them a slice of my pie 💸

I condemn any and all hate speech—no matter what color, race or gender you are. 

I’m also working on some epic new projects (one being a retail concept!!) that are unexpectedly gaining swift momentum. Although I believe you can have it all, you can’t have it all at once.

With all of this being said, I have decided to press pause on Substack. If you are a paid subscriber, thank you so much for believing in me and my writing. I will be refunding everyone in the coming days.

Perhaps I’ll pop on here when I’m feeling inspired or shift to another platform that feels more aligned—this is certainly not the end of Growing FWD:! For the sake of being vulnerable, I’m just not sure what the future looks like.

I watched a recent Masterclass with legendary Director Ava DuVernay, and she spoke about how powerful it is when she says, “I don’t know.” She levels with her crew (or anyone that she’s speaking to) and humanizes herself. This humble power move says I’m learning too.

Aren’t we all?

I hope this inspires you to live and lead from your heart and not just conform to what you should do or to what leadership should look like—aka growing on this platform and driving more revenue because “it’s working.”
